According to the “Our World” textbook, present day Italy stands in the craggy Alps. Those mountains wall off Italy from the rest of Europe. The great and well-run Roman aqueducts are one of the greatest waterways in the historic world. Everywhere in Rome, such as sewers and running water, the aqueducts carry away all the diseases from the population of the empire. The aqueducts’, being the greatest waterway in the historic world, stands and is in use today as a testament to Roman engineering. The grape – where did it come from? How did somebody figure out they could crush it, ferment the juice, and come up with wine? The answer to that is – nobody knows. The history of wine is a cloudy one, at least before 6000 B.C. It’s been said that there was an awful lot of wine consumed in those days, so perhaps that’s why there wasn’t much recording of current happenings at the time.
